UJJAIN: Lokayukt Police, Ujjain on Wednesday caught red handed chief medical and health officer (CM &HO) Ratlam Dr Pushpendra Sharma accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakhs from a primary health centre incharge to dilute the case against him over possessing government medicines at home.
Giving details, Lokayukt inspector Basant Shrivastava told TOI that the CMHO had raided the house of Dr B D Narvaria who is incharge of primary health centre at Berda in Ratlam district on Sunday.
Large number of medicines meant for distributing to patients at government hospital were recovered in the raid. Sharma allegedly demanded rs 5 lakhs to dilute the case and impose lesser sections in police FIR.
Sharma had called Narvaria's daughter Ritu (who once had his student in BAMS course) to put demand of bribe. Narvaria complained to the lokayukt police on Wednesday following which the trap was planned. Lokayukt sleuths were completing paper work at the house of CMHO when this report was being filed.
