Bhopal: Two siblings on way to appear in their Class 10 board exams were waylaid and bludgeoned to death by their uncle and his son in Siddiqganj area of Ashta tehsil in Sehore district on Friday morning. The paternal uncle of the deceased, Harisingh Malviya (55), and his son Hemant Malviya (28) were arrested. A case of murder was registered against them.

Police said the attack appeared to be linked to an ongoing dispute between two brothers over forest land.
Harisingh and Jagdish Malviya, father of the deceased, were in conflict for several years. The dispute between the families reportedly increased after Harisingh's son died in a road accident in October 2025.
Meanwhile after the incident, there was tension in the village and outside the postmortem room at the hospital. Angry relatives of the siblings created a ruckus and allegedly assaulted a constable. Additional police force was called to control the situation.
Senior officers also reached the hospital.
The bodies were later cremated under police supervision. Family members claimed they had earlier informed authorities about threats due to the land dispute. Police said these claims were being looked into and further investigation was underway.
