Incident took place at Padia village in Rajgarh district on Sunday. Police initially registered a case of dacoity and loot against 8 people but later arrested the complainants when investigations revealed they cooked up the loot story.
Superintendent of police, Rajgarh, Sushant Saxena said, "Nahar Singh resident of Bakhna village and Santosh resident of Padia village purchased a tractor in partnership some 8 months ago. They later sold it after 4 months."
They didn't let anyone in the village know about sale of the tractor, Saxena said adding, "On Diwali the duo first hired a tractor from one Mangilal, resident of a neighbouring village and took it to Bakhna village, Nahar's native place. Stating it to be tractor owned by them they did its puja on Diwali in front of the villagers."
On Sunday they left Bakhna, telling villagers that they were going to Santosh's residence in Padia village but on way they returned the tractor to Mangilal and later tied themselves up with ropes and even inflicted injuries on themselves, he said.

"They then rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint of loot which was registered against 8 unidentified people because they alleged that 8 people came in a Scorpio and looted their tractor. But later during investigations it surfaced that they themselves have planned it" Saxena told TOI.
Both have been arrested and booked under relevant sections, he added.
