Teen killed on BRTS corridor in Bhopal, girl injured

A 17-year-old boy died while a girl sustained injuries after getting hit by a vehicle in Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor on Saturday afternoon. A case was later registered at Bagh Sewania police station.

BHOPAL: A 17-year-old boy died while a girl sustained injuries after getting hit by a vehicle in Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor on Saturday afternoon. A case was later registered at Bagh Sewania police station.
Police said Bhanu Prakash, a student of class XII, was moving with a girl on his scooter in the BTRS corridor towards a mall when a vehicle coming from opposite direction hit them near Vidya Nagar petrol pump.

Boy died on the spot while girl has been admitted to a hospital where she is in a state of shock.
Dead teenager was identified as Bhanu Prakash, son of Bhag Singh, purchase officer with Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI), Regional Research Laboratory and a resident of AMPRI campus. He was the only child of his parents.
Police said the family had shifted from New Delhi some time ago and his father had told him not to move out of house as he had a bad dream. Boy was studying at home, but went out for a while when the accident took place, police said, adding, body of the boy was handed over to family after autopsy. There were some reports that the minor was teaching driving to the girl, but police denied coming across such a fact.
His friends told that Bhanu was a very creative boy and had designed his facebook page very differently and was also fond of music.
Details about the vehicle that hit the boy is unclear. There are CCTV cameras at some distance away from spot and efforts were on to identify the vehicle and accused driver through it, the police added.
