Bhopal: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan inaugurated through remote a 2G mobile tower at a special programme organized at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.
She attended other programmes including addressing a gathering of Mararashtrian community and inauguration of hotel Atishay at MP Nagar Bhopal.
The tower, she inauguraetd from Raj Bhawan, has been set up by BSNL Madhya Pradesh as public welfare contribution to efforts of 'Mandar-And-No-More' (MANM) Mission to save lives from danger of water bodies.

The mission was launched by Vishwas Ghose, father of Mandar, a 16-year-old student, who drowned in Kerwa dam on March 21 last year.
Appreciating MANM mission, the Speaker described it as an example of social and civic responsibility and praised people and organizations, who contributed their bit for mission's success.
The newly inaugurated tower will help visitors in Kerwa Dam area get help in case of emergency.
Earlier, the mobile network in this area was either not available or signals were weak. In the past,there were fatalities because rescue support could not be reached in time.
The programme was attended, among others by BSNL CGM C G Pandey and GM Dr Mahesh Shukla, family and friends of Mandar and representatives from Rotary, Bhopal Management Association and Ghose, a management consultant.
In recognition of initiative and efforts of Mandar's family and friends, the new mobile tower has been named "Mandar Tower".
The MANM mission is now in process of expanding activities of making water bodies safer in Madhya Pradesh and other states, Ghose said.
