Suspect held for extortion bid of ₹50L from builder

Bhopal: An extortion case against a builder has come to light after an unknown caller made a demand od Rs 50 Lakh from the builder living in Ayohya Nagar area. The called in a bid to terrorise the builder also hurled a petrol in front of his office.Ayodhya Nagar police has registered an extortion case and detained a suspect. According to police sources, a builder living in the area received a call from an unknown person on Friday and started threatening him. He demanded Rs 50 lakh. When the builder tried to counsel/convince him, the accused threatened to show a trailer in a short while. About half-an-hour, an unknown masked person riding a bike reached in front of the builder’s office and hurled a petrol bomb. After that again the same person called the builder and asked whether he had seen the trailer or not. The builder immediately informed the police about the incident.Ayodhya Nagar police reached the spot, inspected the crime scene, and after conversation with the builder, registered a case against unknown accused on charges of blackmailing and arson. Police said that a miscreant has been detained in this case on Saturday night, who is being interrogated. Additiona DCP Rajesh Bhadouria said that one suspect has been detained in the matter and he was being interrogated. The accused hurled petrol bomb to terrorise the builder.
