Student kills self over poor results

Bhopal: A second year student of B-Pharmacy allegedly died after he jumped from the hostel’s terrace in Piplani locality on Thursday evening. No suicide note was recovered from the spot but it came to light that he was upset over getting poor marks and back in the result, which were declared a few days back.
Investigating officer ASI Ram Raj Baghel said that the deceased Shreyas Mishra, 20, a native of Katni, was pursuing B-Pharmacy from a private college in the city. Here, he was residing in a hostel with a college friend in Patel Nagar, Piplani.
ASI Baghel said that on Thursday around 7.30 pm, when his roommate was busy doing his work, Mishra went on the terrace and after walking there for a few minutes, he took the extreme step.
“As locals spotted the horrific incident, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead and alerted the cops,” said ASI Baghel, adding that his parents were informed about the incident.
His father is a businessman and it came to light that he was the only son. A case was registered at the Piplani police station on Thursday and cops are investigating the case from all angles.
