BHOPAL: Special Task Force (STF) arrested
Rajendra Tiwari, who was wanted in connection with scam in police sub-inspector recruitment examination.
Tiwari, 48, a businessman was arrested from Gwalior. STF sources said that he had connived with PEB officials and managed to get his son, Pralekh, pass the test. Around Rs 15 lakh was given to members of the racket for cracking the exam.
Pralekh was selected and then sent for training.
Also, the STF has caught Yogendra Raghuvanshi, a Narsinghpur resident. He is involved in fraud in the police constable recruitment examination. Around Rs 3 lakh was paid to suspended PEB officer Nitin Mohindra.
Raghuvanshi, was selected and was posted as a constable in Hoshangabad. Suspended DIG RK Shivhare allegedly had a role in his selection.
Both accused, Rajendra Tiwari, and Yogendra Raghuvanshi, were produced in the court on Thursday. Court remanded Tiwari to STF custody till March 3.
Tiwari would be quizzed about his links and also about whereabouts of his son who is absconding. The other person, Raghuvanshi was sent to judicial custody and has gone to jail.
