STF detains accused medico Gaurav Patni

Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday detained Gaurav Patni, a senior medical student, who was on the run since his senior Jagdish Sagar and Sandeep Shilpkar were arrested.

BHOPAL: Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday detained Gaurav Patni, a senior medical student, who was on the run since his senior Jagdish Sagar and Sandeep Shilpkar were arrested.
Patni is said to be a key person in the MPPMT inter-state impersonation racket operated by kingpin Jagdish Sagar. Sagar, sourced customers for his racket among others through Gaurav Patni.

Gaurav's father was manager in a nationalized bank at Ratlam. He was paid Rs 3 to 4 lakh for every candidate he brought to Dr Sagar, said sources. Reportedly Patni himself had appeared as a 'scorer' for several students and has impersonated some of them. He had even travelled to Dubai with Dr Sagar.
STF has also arrested a medical student Vishal Agrawal and his father Sanjay Agrawal in connection with PMT-2012 scam. Sanjay Agrawal is alleged to have got his son selected in PMT 2012 through Dr Vinod Bhandari — chairperson of Shri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) — who was arrested for his alleged role in multi-crore PMT-2012 scam in which mismatch in roll numbers of over 700 students was detected.
Dr Bhandari had given a list of 8 students to the MPPEB officials, Vishal was one of them.
