Speeding truck runs over man

Bhopal: A 33-year-old scooter rider was killed allegedly after being run over by a speeding truck in Chhola area on Thursday afternoon. The impact of the collision reportedly threw the victim nearly 10 feet away, causing severe head injuries that proved fatal.

Following the accident, a crowd gathered at the spot. Police later sent the body for post-mortem examination and handed it over to the family. The truck driver has been arrested and the vehicle seized.

According to police, the deceased, Jitendra Singh Rajput, 33, lived in a rented house on Bhanpur-Vidisha Road along with his wife and two children. He worked as a collection agent for a mobile company.

Police said that around 2 pm on Thursday, Jitendra was travelling on his scooter from Bhanpur towards Chhola when a speeding truck coming from behind hit him on the way.

The collision caused severe injuries to his head and other parts of the body, leading to heavy blood loss. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

After the incident, police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police said the truck driver has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
