REWA: Three people, including a father and his son, were killed on the spot on Saturday evening after a speeding Audi rammed into their motorcycle on a highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, police said.
The crash occurred near Kosta village under the Raipur Karchuliyan police station limits, around 8 km from Rewa city.
The victims were travelling on a single motorcycle to distribute wedding invitation cards when the accident took place, police added.
The deceased included Bhagwat Vishwakarma and his younger son Rahul. Bhagwat's elder son's wedding was scheduled for February 24, Raipur Karchuliyan police station house officer Vijay Singh told reporters.
The car, which was travelling at high speed from the Raipur Karchuliyan side, crashed into their motorcycle, the official said.
Another relative who was riding with them was also killed in the collision. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was completely mangled, Singh added.
The driver of the car has been taken into custody, and further investigation into the incident is underway, Singh said.
