Bhopal: Somraj Malviya's explosive half-century powered Public Vani to a strong opening victory in the 31st IES-Digiana Inter Press Cricket Tournament 2026, while Bhopal Cricket Club edged out Gilt Free in the other match at Bab-e-Aali ground on Monday.Public Vani posted 166 runs in 18 overs. Malviya top-scored with 58, while captain Vishal Garg and vice-captain Vinay Shukla contributed 18 each. Vistar's Cyril Basal claimed 4 wickets, with Pratyaksh and Hem Sagar grabbing 2 apiece.Chasing the target, Vistar News managed only 138/7. Himanshu Dhariwal (44), Sachin (39), and Shahnawaz (28) fought back, but Prakash's 3 wickets sealed the win for Public Vani. Somraj Malviya earned Man of the Match honours, while Cyril Basal was named RNTU Most Valuable Player by Santosh Mishra, Divisional Officer of Public Relations.In the corporate group clash, Bhopal Cricket Club scored 154, led by Amandeep's 44, Aditya Agarwal's 36, Vicky Bundela's 23, and Yogesh Rajak's 22.
