Soldier hits daughter-in-law with hammer

BHOPAL: A 23-year-old newlywed woman was allegedly attacked with a hammer by his father-in-law after she refused to clean his room. Incident took place on September 21 in Bairagarh. The victim, identified as Puja is admitted at a private hospital with multiple injuries. Her cousin, Payal said “Puja’s father-in-law is a retired army man. After injuring her severely, her in-laws informed us that she had an accident, but when we verified, it came to light that she was beaten up by in-laws. The police misbehaved with us when we called them.” The woman’s in-laws stay in Bairagarh while her parents live in old city area. Pooja and her husband had married in July this year. It was a love marriage. “The woman had an accident but the matter is being investigated,” police said. 32-yr-old man commits suicide: A 32-year-old unemployed man committed suicide by consuming sulphas on Thursday afternoon. He called his sister after consuming the poison after which the family rushed him to hospital but he could not be saved. A case was later registered in Piplani police station. Police said Ravi Shankar Sharma, resided in Vidisha where his wife is a nurse. He too was working in a private firm in Vidisha, but was jobless since past some time. He has a house here in Siddhartha Lake City, which was lying vacant for past few months due to which he was not getting rent as well. He came to his parent’s place here in Asara Avenue, took keys of his Siddhartha Lake City home from his mother and went there and consumed poison.
