BHOPAL: Union Minister for agriculture and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said that PM Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of every caste and social class while addressing the BJP workers of Budhni assembly seat at the Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed BJP workers of his former assembly constituency on the ongoing party membership campaign. After Chouhan vacated Budhni seat in June, the assembly seat is also due for bypolls.
The former CM said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, new decisions are being taken every day for the welfare of farmers.
"India lives in the villages. Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy and farmers are the soul of India," the Union minister said. "The Prime Minister is giving PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which is a big economic support for farmers. To increase the income of farmers, it has been decided to buy soybean at the support price. Import duty on palm oil has been increased, so that oil manufacturing companies buy soybean from the farmers of the country," Shivraj Singh Chouhan reasoned.
He said that the BJP govt of Madhya Pradesh is working to give loans to farmers at zero percent interest. "Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, many varieties of paddy seeds have been prepared, which will be ready in 30% less water than the average varieties," Chouhan claimed.
"Congress ruled the country for years after independence but did not do any work for the welfare of farmers. Since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, remarkable work has been done to increase the income of farmers. Party workers should work to make all voters members of the BJP," Chouhan said.
Chouhan also said that the BJP govt of Madhya Pradesh has worked for the all-round development of the state. "By implementing Ladli Behna Yojana, Ladli Laxmi Yojana in Madhya Pradesh, the work of giving respect to sisters and women has been done. Through Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi Yojana, the BJP govt is working for the economic empowerment of women," Chouhan said. "The BJP govt is working to make women self-reliant. Women also have unwavering faith in the Prime Minister. Many women are becoming members of the BJP. BJP workers should make youth and women members of the party in maximum numbers," he said.
