BHOPAL: The Special Police Establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta Monday sent a letter recommending suspension of tainted Apex Bank chairman Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and four other officers, who were charge-sheeted by the agency for conspiring and fraudulently settling loan defaulted by an IAS officer's wife.
The letter was addressed to bank's managing director and registrar of cooperative societies, sources said.
Shekhawat, accountant H S Mishra, bank's legal advisors O P Patidar and S L Lodha have been charged with wrongfully settling loan of Rs 25 lakh defaulted by IAS officer Ramesh Thete's wife Manda.
Confirming the communication, SPE SP Siddhartha Chaudhary said the letter has been written to Apex Bank's higher-ups. After charge-sheet is submitted, it's a routine process, he said.
