Shehla murder chargesheet within stipulated time limit: CBI

BHOPAL: Hinting at the possibility of involvement of some more people in the sensational murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday said chargesheet would be filed against all those involved within the stipulated 90 days.
"The CBI investigations are on to get into the bottom of the case. The agency will file the chargesheet against the accused in three months," Bhopal Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hemant Priyadarshi told reporters here on the eve of agency's foundation day.
Asked about the fate of local BJP MLA Dhruv Narayan Singh, who has been under the scanner of CBI, he said that the search at his places doesn't mean that the legislator would be picked up.
The investigators have arrested five persons, Zaheda Pervez - the prime conspirator, her close friend Saba Faruqui, local history sheeter Saqib Ali alias Danger and two shooters of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh - Irfan and Tabish in the case which was allegedly a fallout of the love triangle involving BJP MLA, going sour.
City based interior designer Zaheda with the help of local history-sheeter Danger contacted the shooters to eliminate Shehla who, she felt, was too close to Singh. The designer, who was too close to the BJP MLA, got Shehla killed on August 16 last year due to jealousy, the agency sources said.
About the acquittal of BJP MLA and former MP minister Kamal Patel who had been charged with attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy in a case registered by CBI, DIG Priyadarshi said that the agency has already moved in for appeal in Madhya Pradesh high court.
Referring to foundation day celebration, the DIG said the CBI local unit would organize a get together on Sunday to strengthen the bonds of staffers and team sprit.
