BHOPAL: A 38-year-old man was arrested for assaulting his 14-year-old daughter with a brass utensil and banging her head on the floor multiple times in Ashoka Garden on Thursday afternoon. The accused was furious as she arrived half an hour late from her coaching class.
She sustained severe injuries to her face and head. When her mother tried to save her, she was allegedly stabbed in the palm with a sharp object. Acting on the girl’s complaint, Ashoka Garden police registered a case of assault under IPC and Juvenile Justice Act.
SHO Alok Shrivastava said that the survivor, is a student of class 8 and attends a coaching class. She returns home regularly at 7.30pm, but on Wednesday, the coaching class ended at 8pm as she was clearing up some doubts, she says in her complaint. When she returned home, her father hurled abuses on her in inebriated condition for returning late.
On Thursday afternoon, when her father returned home from work, he again started shouting at her on the same issue. He allegedly picked up a brass utensil and started hitting her.
He allegedly hit her repeatedly on her face, eye-brows, lips and head and banged her head on the floor. She started bleeding profusely. When her mother intervened, the accused attacked her as well, says the complaint. Subsequently, the girl along with her mother approached Ashoka Garden police station and lodged a complaint. Acting on her complaint, police registered a case against the accused under IPC and JJ Act. Police have arrested the accused.
