BHOPAL: A woman working at a private school in Satna was allegedly raped inside a car by the school's principal, who later blackmailed her with morphed obscene photos and eventually circulated objectionable images to her in-laws after her marriage. The accused, Dheer Singh, 45, has been arrested following a complaint lodged by the survivor at City Kotwali police station, officials said.
"The accused was produced before court, which sent him to jail. A detailed investigation is underway," Kotwali police station in-charge Ravendra Dwivedi told TOI.
The incident took place around a year ago. The 25-year-old survivor was scared and feared the incident could tarnish her image, so she remained silent. She recently got married, and the accused shared some objectionable pictures of her with her husband and in-laws. Her husband advised her to lodge a complaint so the accused could not harass her further. She mustered courage and filed the complaint on Saturday.
A case was registered and the accused was arrested. Sources said the incident occurred on Jan 18, 2024, when the woman sought leave to accompany a friend. The accused granted her leave and offered to drop her in his car. However, instead of taking her to the hospital, he allegedly drove towards Maihar bypass, and when she objected, diverted the vehicle to Dalibaba Baghia, where he raped her inside the car. He also allegedly recorded the act and threatened to kill her if she spoke out.
