BHOPAL: In a one of its kind drive, Satna district administration conducted more than 1550 demarcations across the district in a single day. District collector, sub-divisional magistrates, tehsildars and other revenue officials were in the field on Saturday resolving land demarcation applications.
District collector Anurag Verma said, “Petty land disputes are a major cause of concern in the rural areas. Thus, a one-day drive was launched under Mukhyamantri Jan Seva Abhiyan in the district on Saturday. All the revenue officials started resolving the demarcation applications that were pending from 7 am on Saturday, leading to more than 1552 demarcations across all 11 tehsils of the district in a single day.”
Verma visited Matehna, Ramsthan and Sakaria villages, and conducted the demarcation process there. He also distributed demarcation certificates to the concerned persons.
Sources had said that encroachment of land or dispute related to the boundary of farm is a very common cause of disputes in the rural areas. Resulting in several of pending applications for demarcation before the revenue officials. A drive like this will also lead to reduction in cases of other types of disputes, sources said.
