BHOPAL: BJP firebrand,
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who had perfected the art of vitriolic public speaking during Ram Janmbhoomi agitation, has leashed heavily on
Congress saying that had the party been on roads for public cause, it would not have bit the dust in assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Sadhvi's remarks came in view of Congress dubbing
Narendra Modi government as "suit-boot ki sarkaar", a reference to the PM's monogrammed suit.
She said these remarks are unrealistic, "Rather it should be 'soojh-boojh ki sarkaar', a government of wisdom and reasoning", she justified adding that during Congress regime, Pandit Nehru used to send his suit to Paris laundry, which never became an issue.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti was in Bhopal on Saturday to attend a programme organized by Keer-Adivasi kalyan parishad. Demanding caste reservation for Keer-Mallah-Kevat community, Niranjan Jyoti said she would request chief minister Shivraj Singh to consider benefits for the community members who have joined government services before 2003. "They should not be troubled", she demanded.
It is important that Uttar Pradesh government had requested the Centre? to include 15 communities including Kevat-Mallah, in the list of Scheduled Castes. A bill in the regard is pending in the Parliament. Sadhvi Jyoti seek the same for Madhya Pradesh.
Refuting charge of her inclusion in the union cabinet due to her caste, Sadhvi Jyoti said she is a sadhvi, a holy woman. She said it was PM Modi who chose her to this post. But political parties are not able to gulp her success due her to struggle for community. She said after Independence, history of the country has been distorted which depicts a bad picture of India.
