Row over support staff, coaches for Khelo games

BHOPAL: In another comedy of errors, Barkatullah University has named some class III staff undertaking clerical duties as coach and manager of the varsity team for Khelo India University games.
Surprisingly, those named as coach and support staff of different teams are among the 163 employees already under the lens over their appointments, being probed by a panel headed by a retired judge.
It is learnt that Mukesh Sharma, in-charge of adventure sports cell and technical assistant Anil Tanwar have been sent as a support staff of shooting team.
Another employee, Ravindra Kaushik has been sent as support staff of judo team. All are class 3 employees.
A BU official said, “Sharma is travelling instead of improving adventure sports activities on the university campus. For the past several years, the wall constructed at a huge cost for adventure sports on BU campus is not being used.”
Incidentally, Sharma who was manager on malkhamb team was in controversy after students of team recently alleged that did not pay them money for their tickets. which they.
“We have booked the tickets from our pockets to take part in the Khelo India University Games,” said a malkhamb player, Shubham.
When TOI contacted, Sharma he said, “Whatever you want to write, you can write. I do not care.”
