BHOPAL: Absence of road dividers, traffic signal and warning signs that inform the commuters about the work in progress, has made the BRTS corridor from Habibganj railway station to the Board office square a dangerous road patch to commute. Due to the inordinate delay in construction work, huge traffic jams have become the order of the day on this road.
There is heavy vehicular traffic comprising trucks and other heavy commercial vehicles all the time passing through this lane.

Anshu Thakur who commutes daily to Maharana Pratap Nagar says, "There are no proper sign boards to direct the vehicular movement, if you try moving on this road, you are bound to get stuck in a traffic jam. The moment one takes a turn from the Board office square, the jam starts. As the traffic crawls towards Habibganj station, the first bottle neck that creates a jam comes near Bank Street square," he said.
"Why can't we have traffic cops deployed on the stretch to regulate the unruly traffic," he queries.
"There are no signals on the BJP office tri section. After sunset, possibilities of accident increases all the more," says Manoj Sharma, who has his office at Mansarovar.
At Mansarovar complex, there is hardly any parking space, the entire area has been dug out since long and the visitors park their vehicles on the road side narrowing the road even more.
The present space of the dedicated corridor on the patch is 25m, however ideally it should have been 30m wide.
City mayor Krishna Gaur said, "The process of construction is going on. The construction got delayed because of pipeline shifting."
She also attributed the delay to lack of funds from the central government. "The BRTS project is expected to get completed by June 2013," she assured.
