Bhopal: A day after a warm sharing of tweets, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and former CM Uma Bharti were in the holy town of Orchha on Sunday to celebrate ‘Gaurav Diwas’ on

Ram Navami

.
Orchha, known as ‘Raja Ram Ki Nagri’, has the only temple in the country where Lord Ram is worshipped as a king and gets a guard of honour from police. Chouhan, his wife Sadhna Singh, Uma

Bharti

and some cabinet ministers visited Raja Ram temple and prayed to the deity.

Chouhan

inaugurated a gallery based on the life of Lord Ram in the temple premises.
He lit an earthen lamp in the temple to mark the beginning of the lighting of 5 lakh earthen lamps. The entire Orchha town has been decorated and fireworks lit up the night sky. Around 12 quintals of boondi ke ladoo and panjiri were distributed as prasad among devotees. The chief minister and Uma Bharti were together on the banks of river Betwa when prayer was offered to the holy river.
The CM and Uma Bharti attended the events together only a day after she tweeted that her respect for Chouhan would never dip. “Shivraj ji’s affection for me and my respect for him can never lessen. Tomorrow, on Ram Navami, I already had the programme of the darshan of Ram Raja Sarkar in Orchha. I have been informed that Shivraj ji is also going to be present during the Deepotsav function. Tomorrow, Orchha will be lit up like Ayodhya,” Bharti tweeted on Saturday.
An hour after this, Chouhan tweeted, “Uma Bharti is my sister. I have always respected her a lot. She is not just a political activist, but also a social reformer. She always works to take society in the right direction.”
The warm sharing of tweets came in the backdrop of a barrage of tweets from Uma Bharti on the state’s liquor policy. She demands a complete ban on liquor and has publicly criticized the new policy that makes liquor easier to buy and store.
