Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty's recital in city today

BHOPAL: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya is organising a music programme 'Poonam-34' on Wednesday. Noted Hindustani classical singer Padma Shree Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty will give a vocal performance at Avritti Bhawan open-air stage situated on the lakeside of Manav Sangrahalaya from 7 pm. Entry into this programme is free.
Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty belongs to a family of musicians. He is a disciple of great masters of the art Kanhaidas Bairagi, Gyan Prakash Ghosh and Ustad Munavvar Ali Khan and is the recipient of several awards such as Padma Shri, Kumar Gandharva, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Banga Bibhushan Award. Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty was accorded the rare honour of having been invited to Pakistan for performance of Hindustani Classical Music by Pak government.
