Property broker honey trapped & blackmailed, 2 held
Bhopal: TT Nagar police on Saturday busted a honey-trap gang blackmailing people and threatening to frame them in a rape case. Police said two of the gang members have been arrested while the third accused, an SAF constable, is yet to be arrested. The accused woman had filed a rape case another property broker with Ratibad police just two days back. Investigation officer ASI Akhilesh Tripathi said that Om Singh Bhadouria, 41, a resident of Kamla Nagar, is a property broker. Around a year back on his friend’s recommendation, he employed accused Rekha (name changed), 30, at his office as a receptionist. In March 2023, he terminated her from the job as his work was not going on properly. However, she maintained contact with him and requested him to search for a job for her. In April, he employed another woman at his office after which Rekha got angry with him. Around a month back, on June 7, Rekha approached TT Nagar police station and lodged a rape complaint against Bhadouria. He approached TT Nagar police station and asked Rekha not to file the ‘false’ complaint. Rekha, her husband Badal Singh and the accused SAF constable Gopal Singh demanded Rs 50 lakh cash and a plot of land in exchange. Om Singh’s brother paid Rs 5 lakh cash to Rekha and signed agreement formalities for a plot of land. Rekha withdrew the complaint. Rekha later started pressurising him to complete the registration. Fed up, Bhadouria approached TT Nagar police who registered a case and arrested Rekha and her husband. Search is on to nab Gopal Singh. ASI Tripathi said that during investigation it was revealed that the accused Rekha and her husband Badal target the rich people and honey trapped them. Later, they blackmailed them on the pretext of framing them in a rape case.
