Poverty leads man to bury wife at home

: A poverty ridden 72-year-old buried his wife in his bedroom in

Shahdol

after she died around three months ago.

village continued to live a normal life after burying wife, Kunti Bai. However, neighbours noticed Kunti was missing and called police. On Wednesday, police exhumed the body from beneath Tiwari's bed. "He said he did not know what else to do with the body," SP Sushant Saxena told TOI, adding that doctors refused to conduct an autopsy. Sources said Tiwari had buried his wife because he did not have the money to perform her last rites.
