BHOPAL: The second day of Hriday Drishyam Music Festival was like a big, beautiful bouquet with various colours and fragrances represented by different forms of music and performing arts.

The festival organised at many venues in the city saw a medley of mesmerising performances by some of the renowned Indian and international artistes, which were genuinely appreciated by the discerning audience in Bhopal on Sunday.

Pt Vijay Ghate

cast a magical spell at all those present with his expertise. Starting with Keharwa taal, Ghate’s nimble fingers had a life of their own. Whether it was reaching the crescendo of a taal or presenting his superlative laykari skills, he was simly superb. And the audience showered Ghate with lenty of wah-wahs.

Danseuse Sheetal Kolwalkar was equally impressive showcasing the delicate movements of Kathak and subtle adakari along with precise footwork. Suranjan’s classical vocal rendition was also given a thumbs up by the audience.

Another highlight of the day-2 of the festival was santoor player Rahul Sharma’s concert organised at Bharat Bhavan. Along with the raga-based melodies, the onlookers equally enjoyed his customary

The fifth edition of Hriday Drishyam festival has a different format than all the earlier editions. This time, after Bhopal, the fest is being organised at Indore, Batkeshwar and Mandu too. On March 14, the event will be HELD in Indore and Batkeshwar simultaneously and will culminate in Mandu to showcase a string of unique places of Madhya Pradesh to music lovers as well as tourists.
