Police recover Rs 1.25 cr worth unclaimed gold, silver

BHOPAL: Three persons were nabbed with gold and silver jewellery worth over Rs 1.25 cr from Misrod railway station here on Thursday morning.
Police have recovered around 225 kg silver and 2 kg gold jewellery from them. Police said the accused were nabbed when they were waiting for someone at Misrod railway station after alighting from Punjab Mail.

Accused have been identified Kuldeep Yadav, Rajesh Kushwaha and Pushpendra Rai. Police said the accused had to deliver the consignment in Bhopal. They used to travel from Mumbai to Bhopal twice or thrice a month for which they were paid Rs 10,000 each per trip. In the past, they used to alight at Habibganj or Bhopal railway station, said police sources. However, this time they disembarked at Misrod railway station.
After spotting their heavy bags someone intimated Misrod police about them. Acting on the information, a police team rushed to the spot and nabbed them. Police said accused worked for Devraj Goods Courier, Mumbai. Accused failed to provide relevant documents for the jewellery. Misrod police station SHO Kunwar Singh Mukati said no one has claimed the recovered goods. Preliminary probe revealed that the trio used to work for Madhur Courier Company and left the job to start their own venture. Police have registered a case under section 102 of the CrPC.
