Bhopal: A 21-year-old man arrested under the POCSO Act allegedly created a ruckus at Shahjehanabad police station on Friday and tried to assault a constable with handcuffs while being taken to court.According to police, constable Anil Pawak and other cops were assigned around 2:30 pm to escort accused Sameer Qureshi alias Raja Bachcha alias Iqbal Khan, a Lalghati resident, to court in connection with a POCSO case. Police said while the constable was securing handcuffs, Sameer resisted and tried to assault him using the cuffs. He scuffled with the constable and obstructed police duty.The FIR states another constable intervened and separated him. Sameer then allegedly hit himself on the head with the handcuffs, abused policemen and threatened to kill them after release.Based on the constable’s complaint, Shahjahanabad police registered a fresh case for assault, threatening public servants and obstructing government work. Further investigation is underway.
