Person accused of killing spotted deer for food gets bail

Person accused of killing spotted deer for food gets bail

A vacation bench of MP High Court granted bail to Pratim Bhoomika arrested for alleged killing of spotted deer and cooking its meat. Bhoomika pleaded that FSL report failed to identify whether cooked meat was spotted deer as alleged. Katni police registered case under Wildlife Protection Act sections 2, 9, 39, 51 and 52. FSL report said animal whose meat was cooked couldn’t be ascertained. Bhoomika has been under custody since March 1, 2026. Justice R K Vani granted bail after hearing both sides. TNN
