BHOPAL: More than 15 days on, one of the four accused that were booked following alleged rape of a minor at Rewa

In all, four accused identified as Mahant Sitaram alias Samarth Tripathi, history sheeter

, Monu resident of civil lines area and Dheerendra Mishra, resident of

Rewa

were booked for rape and other relevant sections of

IPC

and protection of children from sexual offences Act. The last arrest in the case was of Monu on April 9.

Rewa police have arrested two other accused Sanjay Tripathi also a history sheeter and his nephew Anshul for helping the main accused Mahant in his failed bid to escape. And one other person was arrested for the same. Police have also demolished illegal structures of all these accused, but Dheerendra Mishra is yet to be arrested.

Mishra is resident of Civil Lines area of Rewa and considered to be the disciple of main accused Mahant, he was also present on the spot when the accused raped the minor, as per the police complaint made by the minor. The incident took place in the evening of March 28, and the girl who was threatened reached civil lines police station of Rewa district on March 29 with her father and made the complaint that one of the accused in the case,

brought her to the circuit house and then Sitaram raped her.
