BHOPAL: A 53-year-old woman, wife of an under secretary posted at the Mantralaya, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in Kamla Nagar.

said Subhadra Kashyap was a homemaker. Her husband
Chandrakant Kashyap
is posted as under secretary in the aviation department at the Mantralaya. Khan said that Subhadra was suffering from a mental disorder for past 15 years and was undergoing treatment. The family members told police that she was not speaking to them for the past eight days.
ASI Khan said that on Wednesday Chandrakant Kashyap had gone to work. Subhadra was at home with daughters while son Prashank had gone out. Around 4 pm, Subhadra locked herself in bedroom. When she did not open the door for long, her daughters got worried and they called Prashank. He returned home and broke open the bedroom door with an axe only to find Subhadra hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta. They informed their father and then Kamla Nagar police about the incident after which cops reached the spot.
In another incident, a newly-wed 20-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself in
Kolar
. Hema Prajapati (20), was married around a year back. Her husband Akash Prajapati runs a gas stove repair shop. On Wednesday evening, Hema hanged herself with a dupatta. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. Police are investigating further.
