Bhopal: A 24-year-old nursing student was killed in a hit-and-run that occurred past midnight on Saturday in the Bairagarh area. The victim was critically injured after being hit by an unidentified car and was taken to a hospital in Bhainsakhedi, Khajuri by passersby, where doctors declared him dead. His friend, who was riding pillion on the bike, escaped unhurt. Police said that the deceased, Akashdeep Singh, 24, was a native of Begusarai in Bihar and was living on rent in city. He was pursuing a BSc Nursing course at a private college. Investigating officer ASI Jagdish Parmar said Akashdeep went to Halalpur Bus Stand with a friend to have tea. Construction work is currently under way here. While crossing a cut point and taking a turn, a speeding car coming from the Indore side rammed into his bike.
