BHOPAL: Even as the Congress and the ruling BJP have been training guns at each other ahead of bypolls on 27 seats in Madhya Pradesh, the new entrant and Rajya Sabha member
Jyotiraditya Scindia displayed a friendly gesture towards the Congress leader Kamal Nath ahead of his Gwalior visit and said that Nath will be the `Guest of Gwalior' and treated with the spirit of `Aththi Devo Bhav' (Guest is equivalent to God)
"Kamal Nath is coming to Gwalior.
We will follow our tradition of 'Atithi Devo Bhav' (Guest is equivalent to God). It is not our job to dispose of anyone. We will work for the development as we have been doing till now. Like our national leader and chief minister, we are dealing with the Corona epidemic, floods and other disasters and despite all obstacles, we are working for the convenience of the public and development of the nation," Scindia told reporters during his daylong visit to Gwalior on Thursday.
The former Union minister who had arrived to participate in the traditional Sufi saint Mansoor Shah Baba's Urs, also praised
Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating an environment of safety. "During this time in the midst of a pandemic like Corona in the country, Prime Minister Modi ji prepared an environment of security and provided beds, plasma and other facilities in hospitals. On one side there is developmental thinking, the other side there is negative thinking (among Congress)," he said.
Scindia also called upon BJP workers to choose development over negativity and politics of misinformation. "This is not an election for a single candidate like Jatav or Kansana. We all including chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and I are in the fray. You have to choose development against the politics of negativity," said Scindia addressing party workers.
The BJP leader also praised chief minister Chouhan for his effort to build Chambap Expressway and other development projects worth crores of rupees. He said with unity and joint efforts, the BJP worker will send Kamal Nath back to his camp after the by-elections.
