MP’s Rituraj shoots gold at Digvijay memorial c’ship

Bhopal: Rituraj Singh Bundela of Madhya Pradesh clinched gold after an intense 38-shot shoot-off against Punjab's Gurjoat Khangura, following their tie at 55 hits in the Digvijay Singh Memorial Shooting Championship (Shotgun).
Ganemat Sekhon, the national champion, demonstrated exceptional performance by securing victory in women's Skeet at the 3rd Digvijay Singh Memorial Shooting. She achieved an outstanding 56 hits in the 60-shot final at the MP Shooting Academy range, matching the current Olympic record.
Rituraj's journey to victory included two crucial shoot-offs. He first prevailed against Olympian Angad Bajwa in a contest for the top six position, after both scored 118 hits in qualification. Olympian Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, who secured the third qualification spot with 121 hits, finished with bronze, scoring 46 hits.
Ganemat's path to victory saw her qualify in third position, whilst Raiza Dhillon topped the qualification round with 118 points. Drawing from her recent successes at the World University Games and Nationals, Ganemat delivered an almost flawless performance in the final, maintaining complete control throughout the competition.
The competition concluded with Raiza securing silver with 53 hits, whilst Darshna Rathore from Rajasthan claimed bronze, finishing with 42 hits after 50 shots.
