MP woman kills infant by throwing him into stove

BHOPAL: A 24-year old woman was arrested for killing her 1-year old son by throwing him in a burning stove, in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.
The accused was booked under relevant laws and arrested on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Aamdih village under Jaisinghnagar police station of the district on November 6.
Son of Rita Patel, 24, was brought to the district hospital after sustaining severe burn injuries, the kin initially told doctors that the child fell into the stove while playing, said police.
“The kid died after two days of treatment. We had suspicion and started investigations into the matter. Later it emerged that the accused Rita Patel, herself threw the child into the stove, in a fit of rage,” SP Sahdol, Sushant Saxena told TOI.
He added, “There was quarrel in the house between Rita and other family members and it took an ugly turn when she threw her own child on the stove”.
“She has been arrested and booked under relevant laws,” Saxena said.
