BHOPAL: Government of Malaysia organised Malaysia International Tourism Exchange-2012 at Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur (Serdang) from May 31 to June 3, 2012. A delegation of Madhya Pradesh led by Tourism, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tukojirao Puar participated in the event and invited foreign tourists to Madhya Pradesh. The exchange was inaugurated by Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najeeb Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razzak.
The delegation comprised Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation General Manager Nitin Katare. Besides India, Tourism Ministries and travel agents from Indonesia, Kenya, Taiwan and Mozambique also participated in the event.
During his participation in Malaysia Tourism Exchange, Puar informed foreign tourists about special features of Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation put up a stall at the Exchange. Folders on various tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh, maps, CDs etc were displayed at the stall. The material was specially made available to travel agents of Malaysia and other foreign countries. Besides Malaysian people, citizens of other countries also evinced keen interest in information about Sanchi, Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh, Bhopal and other tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh.
