MP: Sex racket busted at Ratibad, five women among 14 arrested
BHOPAL: Ratibad police on Tuesday early morning raided a hotel located in Barkhedi area on Bhadbhada Road and busted a sex racket being operated there. Police nabbed 14 accused including five women and nine men.
A 26-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were running the racket and they contacted customers through online websites. The nabbed women hail from Assam,
Among the nabbed customers seven are friends and businessmen from Lalitpur Uttar Pradesh. They had allegedly come to Bhopal for their business purpose and came in contact with the accused after getting their contact number from website - escortbhopal.com.
SHO Ratibad Sudhesh Tiwari said that police had received a tip off that a man named Pawan Gambhir was running a sex racket along with his accomplice Puja at a hotel located near Sakshi Dhaba trisection. The accused supplied women to the customers staying at the hotel. Acting on a tip off police sent a constable posing as a decoy to the hotel. When he confirmed the information, the police team including women cops raided the hotel around 6 am on Tuesday and searched the hotel rooms. During the search police team found men and women in objectionable condition in their rooms. When police interrogated the women they revealed that they were providing service to their clients at various hotels in the city for the past few years.
SHO Tiwari said that the racket was being operated by accused Pawan Gambhir, 32, who hails from Udham Singh Nagar in UP, who presently resides at a colony near Hoshangabad Road and his accomplice Puja Parmar, 26, who hails from Chhattisgarh and presently resides in MP Nagar. The accused Pawan Gambhir runs a shoe trading business while Puja earlier worked as a sex worker. Both came in contact around a couple years ago and started the sex racket.
SHO Tiwari said that the nabbed accused men were identified as Akash Sharma, 26, Arpit Jain, 27, Nawal Singh Prajapati, 31, Amit Soni, 32, Vishal Jain, 26, Anjil Jain alias Raju, 27,
He said that police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and arrested them.
