BJP has slammed senior
Congress leader Kantilal Bhuria for his controversial remarks that BJP leaders collect funds in the name of Ram temple and use the money for alcohol consumption. The BJP has dubbed the statement as shameful and demanded an apology from the Congress party and Bhuria.
Bhuria, a former union minister and Congress MLA from Jhabua triggered a fresh controversy on Monday when he blamed the BJP leaders for misappropriation of funds collected in the name of Ram temple construction in Ayodhya.
"BJP leaders collected thousands of crores over the years in the name of Ram Temple construction. Where did that fund go? They collect donations in the name of Ram Temple in day and drink alcohol using the same money at night,” alleged Bhuria while speaking to reporters in Petlawad, on Monday.
The Congress leader also demanded to deposit the funds collected for the construction of Ram temple in the bank account of Ram temple trust. The BJP has termed Bhuria's remark as shameful. "The statement by Kantilal Bhuria is shameful. Congress always speaks against Lord ram. This is an insult of Lord Ram," reacted cabinet minister Vishwas Sarang.
MP home minister Narottam Mishra said that Bhuria being close to Congress leader Digvijaya Singh is speaking against Lord Ram and the temple. "Kantilal Bhuria's statement is a symbol of `devilish tendency'. Bhuriaji's fault is less as he is doing the same as what his teacher, Raja Saheb (Digvijaya Singh), has taught him," said Mishra.
Senior BJP MLA and pro tem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma said, "The donations collected from the public directly go to the bank account of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The entire process is transparent."
BJP leader from Jhabua Kal Singh Bhabhar has demanded an unconditional apology from Bhuria and said that Congress leaders cannot digest the fact that Ram temple is being constructed. He said Bhuria should give evidence against BJP leaders or apologise.
