Monsoon delayed, city bakes at 41, over 3 above normal

Bhopal: With absence of any weather system, the rise in the temperature continues in Bhopal and other places of the state. There was no possibility of respite and dry hot weather will continue to dominate for the coming days as well.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there was a circulation over Bihar and there was a cyclone over Arabian Sea leading to moisture incursion, but mainly dry hot weather will prevail in the state with possibility of thunder and light rain.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Saturday was recorded at 41.1 degrees celsius, over three degrees more than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 28.0 degrees celsius, two degrees more than normal mark. Wind direction in the city was westerly and average wind speed was 20 kilometers per hour. Day temperature in Damoh was recorded at 43.2 degrees celsius.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday the meteorological officials said, there would be clear sky in the day and evenings will be cloudy with possibility of thundery development. Day and night temperature will be respectively 39 degrees celsius and 27 degrees celsius while average wind speed will be 24 kmph.
In the forecast for the state the meteorological officials issued warning of thunder and high velocity winds for places including Betul, Harda, Sehore, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Dewas, Anuppur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat and Sagar districts.
A possibility of rain and thunder was underlined for Betul, Harda, Sehore, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Dewas, Anuppur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat & Sagar districts. The weather would be dry over the remaining places in the state.
