BHOPAL: The
Madhya Pradesh
government's decision to include chapters about
RSS founder Dr
Keshav Hedgewar
and Jan Sangh founder Pandit
Deendayal Upadhyay
, along with other thinkers of India, in the foundation course of MBBS, has triggered a political war of words between the Congress and the ruling BJP. Rejecting Congress allegations, BJP state president Vishnu Dutt Sharma said that RSS leaders are ideals of the country and it is important for the doctors, apart from others, to know about them too.
"Doctors should also know who has done what for the country. This should be mandatory. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, who sacrificed everything for the country by creating a revolutionary movement. Because of them we are celebrating the Amrit Mahotsava, 75 years of Independence of the country. Along with this, Hedgewar has done the work of tying the country in one thread. It is a matter of pride that by establishing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a big idea was given to the country to tie the entire community together," said Sharma on Sunday.
As per reports, MBBS students in Madhya Pradesh will read about RSS founder Dr Hedgewar and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay in their foundation course. Congress leader Kamal Nath alleged that the BJP was trying to impose its ideology in the field of education for many years. "This is also part of the same agenda that MBBS students will be taught the thoughts of RSS and Jana Sangh leaders. There have been many great leaders in the country who have contributed significantly from the freedom of struggle to the development of the country. What RSS leaders have done?" asked Nath.
The BJP Lok Sabha member from Khajuraho said that Congress has its own ideal and the BJP has too. "What Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar has done for unity and integrity in the country and played an important role for the country. Why should there not be information about Babasaheb? I want to ask those who want to raise questions, do you want to oppose Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar? Is it wrong to give information about Babasaheb to the doctors who are a part of the society after completing their medical education? Is it wrong to give information about Gandhiji, Hedgewar ji, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, who gave the idea of Antyodaya and Integral Humanism, on the basis of which the world's largest political party stands in the country today," asked Sharma.
He said, "Those who are ideal for BJP will definitely come. The real Gandhi is among the ideals for the Congress, so he will definitely come. But if you say that today's Gandhis should be included, then the whole country wants to know what they have done for the country?"
