Man stabbed to death over family feud in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur

JABALPUR: A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death by two unidentified assailants in Jabalpur on Sunday.

The victim, Daya Shankar Vanshkar, was stabbed around six times in a suspected fallout of a family feud.

Civil Line Police Station in charge Nehru Khandate said Vanshkar, a resident of Prem Sagar in Hanumantal, had left his home in the morning, informing his family he was meeting someone in the Civil Line area.

Around 10:30 am, as he reached Dutt Apartment, two men on a motorcycle intercepted him and launched a frenzied knife attack.

The victim collapsed at the scene, covered in blood, as the suspects fled. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and transported Vanshkar to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

"CCTV footage from the area has provided significant leads. The suspects, believed to be relatives of the victim, will be arrested soon," Khandate said. Police sources said the murder stemmed from a long-standing family dispute.
