Bhopal: A quarrel over money to buy a bicycle for a child allegedly ended in murder in Betul district, where a man is accused of beating his wife to death at their home.
The incident took place in Kheradhana hamlet of Dhappa village under Shahpur police station limits on the intervening night of March 4 and 5.

Police said the accused, Sudhakar Darshima, allegedly assaulted his wife Kavita after asking her for money to buy a bicycle for their son. The argument escalated and the woman was repeatedly attacked with fists and a belt, officers said. Kavita sustained multiple injuries on her head, face, back and legs. Her condition deteriorated following the assault and she later died.
"The dispute started with the issue of the accused seeking money from his wife to buy a bicycle for his son.
It later escalated and took an ugly turn, leading to the murder," Shahpur police station incharge Arvind Kumre told TOI.
Following the information, a police team reached the spot, carried out inquest proceedings and sent the body for post-mortem.
"Initially, a case of unnatural death was registered. After investigation, the accused was booked for murder and arrested late on Friday. On Saturday, he was produced before court, which sent him to jail," Kumre added.
Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
