Man arrested for raping 3-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district

BHOPAL: A 40-year-old man was arrested in Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl.

After the sexual assault on the kid, the accused left her at a farm in a semi-conscious state.

The girl has been referred to Jabalpur for treatment as her medical examination could not be done at Dindori.

The incident took place at a village under Dindori Kotwali police station limits on Tuesday afternoon. The accused, identified as Shyam alias Baredi, used to work with the family as a cattle grazer.

The accused took the girl and gave her a packet of snacks, then told her that he would take her to her grandfather and raped her at a farm at around 12pm.

The accused left the kid, who was writhing in pain, in the farm and fled. The family members of the girl started searching for her and it was around 3pm when a gardener, who was working close to the farm saw her and informed her parents.

Her parents then alert the police and took the girl to the hospital.

“The girl was in a semi-conscious condition. She was having pain and minor bleeding, but she is out of danger and was referred to Jabalpur only because her medico-legal examination could not be done here. We traced the accused, who was also near Dindori town, and arrested him. He is an alcoholic,” Kotwali police station in-charge, Anurag Jamdar, told TOI.
