Mallakhamb starts in Ujjain

Ujjain: Athletes of Tamil Nadu dominated on the first day of mallakhamb competition being held at at Madhav Seva Nyas Khel Gram in Ujjain under Khelo India Youth Games 2022.
A total 219 athletes (accompanied by their 71 coaches and managers) from 24 states are participating in three forms of of mallakhamb – rope, pole and hanging in the five-day-long event.
On the first day of the competition, Tamil Nadu’s athletes scored 147.80 points in the boys and girls combined round, followed by Gujarat (140.30 points), Haryana (130.05 points), Karnataka (125.80 points), Chandigarh (87.85 points), Puducherry (63.35 points) and Uttar Pradesh (63.90 points).
In every state team, there are 12 athletes, including six boys and as many girls. tnn
