Though senior officials are tightlipped on the issue, insiders say that the officer had blown whistle against alleged corruption in Covid-19 related procurements (oxygen concentrators) and some bureaucrats were unhappy.

In a complaint to the DGP, Jangid said that he received a call around 11.50pm asking him to go on six-month leave if he cares for himself and his family.

“Just like Vyapam whistleblowers, I am also facing an immediate threat to my life and family. Kindly provide me security,” he wrote.

After nine transfers in 54 months, Jangid had expressed his anguish at the ‘system’ in a closed messaging group of Madhya Pradesh IAS officers Association (MPIASOA). He was promptly removed from the group, and has since been showcaused by the government over an unrelated charge.

On Wednesday evening, the general administration department showcaused the 35-year-old officer for allegedly recording a telephone call from the principal secretary-GAD regarding his transfer and making it public. It amounts to breach of trust and privacy and is a violation of civil services rules, says the notice, asking Jangid to reply within seven days.

In leaked screenshots of his posts and conversations on the messaging group, Jangid alleges corruption and suggests he was repeatedly transferred for being honest. Jangid has written to chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains seeking inter-cadre deputation to Maharashtra, citing personal reasons.

Jangid’s first posting was as SDM-Vijaypur in Sheopur district on November 1, 2016. He was attached to the secretariat a few months later. His most recent transfer was as additional MD, Rajya Siksha Kendra, within 41 days of being made additional collector of Barwani district.

On Monday Jangid posted, “Interestingly, those who mint money from all kinds of mafia get transferred from field to field. And those with impeccable integrity get thrown to the secretariat on transfer… stability of tenure in Madhya Pradesh and the joke of an institution called Civil Services Board… I will come out with a book post-retirement and hopefully bring the facts before everyone to see. Right now, my hands are tied by conduct rules.”

In another of his posts, he alleges he was removed as SDM from a district because he called the collector ‘weak’.

This IAS officer seems did not look around him and was not aware of the system in which he was operating as IAS officer on various posts. It is not MP that something unusual with IAS officer is happening. Didn't he know Ashoke Khemka IAS officer who was transferred 54 time in his 28 years of service on an average a transferred in 6 months he was also threatened of dire consequences and life of his son who was kept away from thefamily for reasons of security. Didn't he know that a lady IPS officer was slapped by a ruling party politician in public and she could do nothing. That in India there is no incentive for being honest but it is considered virtuous to be honest and that makes one compromise with his life. That a honest man risks his life as well as his his family as well as his post retirement settlement. Didn't he know that West Bengal Chief Secretary A;lapan Bandhyopadhyay is eyesore of PM for not being present in the review meeting which was also to be for Mamata Banerjee the CM of WB but it is Alapan who is charge sheet after his retirement though Mamata has been praising him for his work and stands by him but it is known fact that centre is determined to do something with is post retirement benefits like pension etc. And most of all that IAS organization all India has no President only for the reason that he may not be able to function as President for fear of incurring wrath of politicians. But fight is must and it is system that has to be set right and that is the crux of the problem. How he does it is the question But am sure he cannot continue as IAS the way he is conducting himself it is about committing harakiri since the way he is going is not going to change anything . This is not to discourage such courageous officer but to warn of the consequences that he will have to face and may be if he is sincere will have to resign and work with other such IAS officers who are similarly young and had tremendous future had they gone the way these senior are going. He has all the praise from men like us and all the best
