Madhya Pradesh revenue department employee assaults woman, suspended after video goes viral

NEW DELHI: An employee of the revenue department in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district was suspended after a video surfaced on social media, showing him physically assaulting a woman at the tehsildar’s office.

The incident took place at the Gohad tehsildar’s office on Monday, and the footage quickly went viral.


Sub-divisional officer (SDM) Parag Jain confirmed the suspension of Naval Kishore Gaud, a clerk (Assistant Grade 3), stating that his actions amounted to indecency and physical assault on a woman.

The suspension was ordered with immediate effect.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, police have registered a case against Gaud. Gohad police station in-charge, Manish Dhakad, informed that an investigation has been initiated into the matter.

According to the first information report, the 52-year-old woman and her husband had visited the tehsildar’s office on Monday to register their land online.

The complainant alleged that she had been making multiple visits to the office over the past six months to complete the procedure.

The accused official reportedly refused to assist her and got into an argument with the woman.

The FIR stated that Gaud then physically assaulted her, using his shoes and kicking her.

Further action is now being taken by the authorities to address the incident.
