Madhya Pradesh horror: 10-year-old girl raped by uncle while father hospitalised

BHOPAL: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 23-year-old uncle in Vidisha district on Tuesday night. The incident occurred when the minor went to the accused's house to deliver food.Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A search operation is underway to apprehend the accused, who has been missing since the incident.The survivor's father had met with an accident on Feb 1 and was shifted to a hospital in Bhopal for treatment. Her mother was also at the hospital to attend to him. The girl was staying at home with her two brothers.According to the police, the houses of the accused and the survivor are adjacent. On Tuesday night around 9 PM, the girl went to her uncle's house to give him food. The accused allegedly dragged her into the bushes nearby and committed the crime.The survivor's 12-year-old brother reportedly saw the uncle taking his sister toward the bushes. When she did not return after an hour, he went to search for her and found her in a traumatized state. He alerted the neighbours, who then informed the city police around 11 PM.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
