Madhya Pradesh fetches Rs 19,386 crore investment

BHOPAL: Nearly 99,262 micro, small medium and large industries have been set up in Madhya Pradesh (MP) in last five years, officials said.
A whopping investment of Rs 19,386 crore has made in putting up these industries which have generated more than 2.41 lakh jobs in MP, they added.
Of the industries, 99,179 are micro and small units between 2007-2011, have been set up with a capital of more than Rs 1771 crore.These industries have employed more than 2.23 lakh persons, officials said.
Industries set up with the cost of Rs 5 to 10 crore fall in the category of small industries. Eighteen industries of this category have come up with the cost of Rs 128. 15 crore and generated jobs for 1,385 persons, officials said.
About 65 large industries that have come up with an investment of more than Rs 17,486 crore have generated 16,486 jobs.
According to industries department officials, the MP government was attracting investments with sops. The government is trying hard to financial empower the people and generate employment, they added.
