CM felicitates Olympic & Paralymic medallists
Bhopal: Addressing the Paris Olympic and Paralympic players at Tatya Tope Stadium on Wednesday, CM Mohan Yadav assured them that the govt will take care of their future while they focus on winning international medals. He expressed pride in Madhya Pradesh's Vivek Sagar's contribution to the Indian hockey team's success in the Olympics.CM Yadav presented incentive cheques to the players, ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 lakh, in the presence of sports and youth welfare minister Vishwas Sarang, additional chief secretary sports Smita Bhardwaj, players, and their parents. CM Yadav praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's sportsman spirit, highlighting his warm welcome for medal-winning players and encouragement for those who didn't win medals. Yadav honoured Olympic medal-winning hockey player Vivek Prasad Sagar, Paralympic medal-winning judo player Kapil Parmar, and shooting player Rubina Francis with cheques of Rs 1 crore each. He also honoured Olympic participant Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Paralympic participants Prachi Yadav and Pooja Ojha with Rs 10 lakh each, World 6-Red Snooker World Championship winner Kamal Chawla with Rs 3 lakh, and Deaf Shooting Championship winner Chetan Hemant Sapkal with Rs 2 lakh.Sports minister Sarang presented appointment letters to outstanding players who received the Vikram Award from 2017 to 2022 in various govt departments, including Water Resources, Public Works, Urban Development, Medical Education, and Forest Department. Players from various sports such as throw-ball, wushu, kho-kho, malkhamb, judo, para-canoe, karate, and shooting received appointment letters.
